Choosing your recipe
First choose your bases, we recommend using 2 cans to give 3kg of pure hopped malt extract. This is an ideal quantity for producing an excellent beer. Now choose the grain character that you would like to add to your base. The grain character packs have a description on them to the flavours they will add, some will also add colour to your brew. Several packs can be added to give different effect such as head retention, flavour, texture and colour
Now choose the hop flavour and aroma that you would like to add to your brew, again as with the grains you can add several packs of the same or different hops to vary the flavours/aromas
Now choose your yeast, the design a brew premium genuine brewers yeast is excellent on all styles but we also have a range of other yeasts so why not try experimenting. Some of our recipe ideas may specify a particular yeast this will be to maximise the flavours/character of the beer style.
Brewing Method
Equipment needed:
- Pan large enough to fit two tins in
- Thermometer
- Fermenting bucket
- Sterilising solution
- Large spoon for stirring
- Hydrometer
- Siphoning tubing
